Nestled in the foothills of the North Carolina mountains, EverOak is home to a small, intentional breeding program devoted to the preservation of the English Labrador Retriever and Sussex Spaniel.

Our dogs live in our home as family — never as kennel stock. Each breeding is thoughtfully planned, health-tested, and evaluated according to the official breed standard. We breed selectively, only when we are keeping a puppy to carry our program forward.

🌲 The EverOak Philosophy

At EverOak Labradors & Sussex Spaniels, we believe breeding is stewardship.

Everything we have — and every life entrusted to us — is a gift from God. We approach our program with gratitude, responsibility, and reverence for the breed.

Located on 25 acres in the North Carolina mountain foothills, EverOak is more than a kennel — it is our home. Our dogs grow up surrounded by hardwood trees, seasonal blooms, open air, and daily interaction with our family. They sleep inside, live as companions first, and are raised with structure, intention, and love.

Preservation Over Popularity

We are a preservation-focused breeding program.

That means:

• We breed only when we are retaining a puppy for our future.
• We do not produce high volume litters.
• We do not follow trends.
• We do not produce dilute or designer Labradors.
• We adhere strictly to the AKC breed standard.
• The only recognized Labrador colors under the written breed standard are black, yellow, and chocolate. Our Labradors are proudly 100% dilute free — confirmed through genetic testing. Our Sussex Spaniels are bred to breed standard.

Our goal is simple but unwavering: To protect the integrity, structure, temperament, and working ability of the Labrador Retriever and Sussex Spaniel for generations to come.

Every dog in our program is:

• Individually health tested (we do not “clear by parentage”)
• Evaluated for structure and movement
• Proven through AKC-sanctioned events
• Raised on premium nutrition
• Covered with comprehensive care
• Titles matter — but only when earned under proper standards. Every championship, placement, and point associated with EverOak has been achieved through AKC competition.
• We believe excellence should be proven, not claimed.
